The placement of your subject, other objects, her position, etc. all makes a perfectly stunning and eye-catching composition! Your shading and lighting effects are quite inspiring as well. I almost feel like there's an actual light source coming out of this painting onto my keyboard
And I love how you were able to grasp the concept of fading the painting into darkness around the edges. It's very smoothly done~ doesn't look like an obvious black border, but the darkness does frame the lady and the window in an eye-catching way. Well done on that~
I honestly can't think of any critiques for you on this one D8 Truly amazing job! KUDOS
Well, here's my attempt at a critique.
This is a beautiful composition that uses gorgeous, soft and dreamy tones and takes full advantage of light and shade. As always, you pay exquisite attention to detail. The viewer could get caught up in your vision for hours; I see something new every time I look at it.
The lighting is especially phenomenal. You did a great job of showing light not only coming from the lamp on the window sill, but also from the universe beyond the window. I think perhaps she should have a bit more light on her face, but I could be wrong about that.
The piece looks like a painting. The subject's dress and veil are ethereally dreamy. Her face is soft and expressive, lost in thought or perhaps dreaming of a place far, far away. I'm not sure what I think of the veils/drapes being used around the window; they are sort-of out of place, but they do lend more softness to the piece nevertheless.
Overall, I think this is a wonderful addition to an already phenomenal gallery. I look forward to seeing more of your work!
